FRIDAY, 10 OCTOBER – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) is delighted to announce that it is now a Member of the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC), the UK’s only sustainability champion for the further and higher education sector.

UMS is the first university in Asia to join EAUC.

In a statement released by UMS EcoCampus Management Centre; by joining the EAUC, UMS has joined a network of over 220 other institutions and 3,500 individuals who are all working to drive sustainability to the heart of their institutions.

According to the statement, the decision to join the EAUC was made as part of UMS' continuing commitment to sustainability. This will help promote a whole institution approach to economic, social and environmental change. By joining as a whole institution, every member of staff and all students can become involved and enjoy the benefits.

Among some of the benefits provided are access to the EAUC’s resource bank, an online repository full of strategies, policy documents, guidance and tools.

In today’s situation, it is essential that all members of staff consider sustainability in the work they do, to make financial as well as environmental savings where possible.
