TUESDAY, 19 AUGUST – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Woman Futsal team emerged champion in the Futsal event at the Malaysian University Staff Championship (SUKUM 39) held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor.

UMS team beat Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) 5-0 at the final which took place yesterday.

Three goals were successfully scored through lethal player, Mastura Majid while two goals were from sensational player, Shereilynn Elly Pius.

The success created history of sorts for UMS team as they were able to penetrate UniMAP stronghold in this game who were the defending champion for seven consecutive years.

Mastura was named the tournament’s top scorer.

UMS Woman Futsal team this time was under the leadership of UMS Sports Centre Head, Mohd. Asyraff Fong Abdullah and Rosmaidy Wasli besides Team Manager, Sarianshah Shamsudin. – SS (fl)
