karnivalsukan hepa2015ISNIN, 10 OGOS - Jabatan Hal Ehwal Pelajar (HEP) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) menganjurkan Karnival Sukan baru-baru ini sebagai memupuk semangat bersukan dalam kalangan kakitangan.

Bertempat di Kompleks Sukan UMS, karnival tersebut disertai jabatan dan pusat di bawah naungan Timbalan Naib Canselor Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni (HEPA), Prof. Madya Dr Ismail Ali.

Dikenali sebagai Karnival Sukan HEPA, karnival itu menyenaraikan empat kontinjen iaitu Kontinjen Hitam yang melibatkan gabungan staf Pejabat Khas Timbalan Naib Canselor HEPA, Bahagian Kebajikan, Biasiswa dan Tatatertib Pelajar serta Bahagian Kebudayaan Kesenian HEP.

Kontinjen Hijau pula terdiri daripada gabungan staf Pusat Sukan dan Pusat Alumni manakala  Kontinjen Biru adalah daripada kalangan staf Bahagian Perumahan dan Hospitaliti Pelajar HEP.

Kontinjen selebihnya iaitu Kontinjen Kuning terdiri daripada staf Bahagian Kaunseling dan Bimbingan Kerjaya, Zon Bendahari HEP serta Bahagian Pentadbiran.

Semua kontinjen berentap dalam acara sukan Bola Tampar, Futsal, Bola Jaring dan Sepak Takraw pada karnival sehari itu.

Karnival yang buat julung kalinya turut menyaksikan Kontinjen Hijau ternyata jauh lebih gah apabila menjuarai dua kategori sukan iaitu futsal dan bola tampar.

Bola jaring pula dimenangi Kontinjen Hitam, manakala Kontinjen Biru dinobat sebagai pemenang bagi sukan sepak takraw.

Hadir sama Timbalan Naib Canselor HEPA, Prof. Madya Dr. Ismail Ali dan Ketua Jabatan HEP Azmi Jumat.

Karnival sukan tersebut antara lain bermatlamat mengeratkan hubungan silaturahim antara kakitangan, selain mempromosikan aktiviti kesukanan sebagai aspek yang perlu dititikberatkan dalam penjagaan kesihatan.

Turut diadakan cabutan bertuah kepada semua peserta Karnival Sukan HEPA. -MA & SS-

Pengarah bersama warga UMSKALFRIDAY, 07 AUGUST – Approximately 250 employees celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Labuan International Campus (KAL) level held at the foyer, Tower Building, yesterday.

UMSKAL Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murnizam Hj. Halik was present including lecturers, officers and support staff celebrating this festive season.

The staff were in joyous mood and bringing home numerous prizes and awards including lucky draws, Long Service Staff Award for staff who had served for 10 years, best booth, singing slot and other activities.

Various delicacies were prepared such as soto, curry mee, rendang, nasi lemak, fruits, black bean porridge and roti canai.

Stalls were beautifully decorated to ensure staff dine in a warm ambience while interacting and fostering good rapport that had long existed among UMS Labuan staff.

Taking the opportunity to wish Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir and Batin to all UMSKAL staff, Dr. Murnizam hoped that the event would leave a lasting impression to all staff who attended the event. – SS (fl)

Rumah Terbuka PersekutuanFRIDAY, 07 AUGUST – The support to the Open House during the festive season are likely to foster cultural integration among state and federal civil staff.

This was stated by the Federal Secretary Sabah, Datuk Borhan Dolah at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for staff of Federal Civil Service, yesterday.

He said the programme provided a platform for civil staff to meet their counterparts while mingling among the departments.

“This is an integration programme in conjunction with Hari Raya to strengthen the friendship among civil staff as well as meetings between the federal and state departments,” he added.

Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) served Rainbow Rice, Ayam Masak Merah and pickled Cucumber as their menu for guests who patronise their stall during the open house.

The celebration was also attended by the Head of State, Tun Haji Juhar Datuk Haji Mahiruddin and Toh Puan Hajah Norlidah Tun R. M. Jasni. - (fl)

bimbing2THURSDAY, 6 AUGUST – The Student Affairs Department, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) continues to provide guidance to students in developing their self-esteem and personality.

This was stated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Associate Professor Dr. Ismail Ali at the official closing ceremony of the Leadership and Management Course for the upcoming Students Orientation Week 2015/2016 (BIMBING), recently.

Dr. Ismail, who was represented by the Executive Director of the Student Orientation Week (MSM) 2015/2016, Associate Professor Dr. Rasid Mail added that staff of the department would always educate, nurture and develop the discipline as well as morals of students besides ensuring their welfare.

“HEP will continue to support and help students to be more successful in terms of self development and to apply the values of first-class human capital,” he added.

The one-week course was held at the Multipurpose Hall of Tun Fuad Residential College and attended by 45 students as preparation for the registration of new students in September.

enactus ums naib juaraWEDNESDAY, 05 AUGUST – The ENACTUS Team of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) continues to demonstrate excellent performance by emerging as the 1st runner-up at the ENACTUS Malaysia National Cup 2015 competition which ended yesterday.

The team edged Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) at the finals held at the Malaysian Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) MATRADE Kuala Lumpur.

However, ENACTUS UMS had to be contented when their stiff ‘rival’ Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Campus (KSHAS) took the coveted title and emerged as the overall winner.

Third and fourth places went to UUM and USIM respectively.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor of UMS, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah also expressed his joy and proud of the team’s achievement.

“Congratulations to ENACTUS UMS team for finishing second at the national level,” he said in his official Facebook page today. - (fl)
