Students are offered a very supportive atmosphere while studying at UMS. The halls of residence provide a clean, comfortable and affordable environment in which to pursue studies and extracurricular activities. The accommodation consists of terraced houses and apartments. There are residential blocks called 'Kampung' AB, CD and E within the University campus. The rest are situated outside in three localities, all within easy driving distance. They are Kolej Kediaman Indah Permai and Kolej Kediaman Kingfisher. Each apartment/house is modestly furnished.

The University has provided facilities to several agencies to run catering services in the campus as well as in the halls of residence. There are currently 5 cafeterias in the main campus alone. Therefore, food on campus is never a problem. The cafeterias on campus leaves our students spoilt for choice of food, they offer a range of dishes to suit different tastes, which serves a variety of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western food.

The Department of Information Teknology and Communication (JTMK) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah is responsible for providing IT services to staff and students with the help of state-of-the-art equipment. In fact the university prepared a blueprint for digital inclusion even before the campus development. Being a strategic asset of the University, IT services are efficiently managed as a valuable resource.
OSC houses the academic, bursar and student affairs services counters under one roof to provide con-venient and systematic services to the students.
