The halls of residence provide a clean, comfortable and affordable environment in which to pursue studies and extracurricular activities. The accommodation consists of terraced houses and apartments. There are residential blocks called 'Kampung' AB, CD and E within the University campus. The rest are situated outside in three localities, all within easy driving distance. They are Kolej Kediaman Indah Permai and Kolej Kediaman Kingfisher. Each apartment/house is modestly furnished.

lecturehall1Lecture rooms are available at all the teaching faculties. In addition, there are large lecture halls to accommodate larger

number of students in certain compulsory courses. Surrounded by greeneries, the campus provides a conducive learning environment.

The lecture rooms that contain increasingly high-tech equipment and facilities are provided to support the educational and research programmes.

cafe1The University has provided facilities to several agencies to run catering services in the campus as well as in the halls of residence. There are currently 5 cafeterias in the main campus alone. Therefore, food on campus is never a problem. The cafeterias on campus leaves our students spoilt for choice of food, they offer a range of dishes to suit different tastes, which serves a variety of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western food.

The cafeterias as well are places where our students can head on to for a comfortable and relaxing meal. Here, the food prices are reasonable and affordable. Cafeterias are given instructions to maintain hygienic standards and price controls.

ict lab The Department of Information Teknology and Communication (JTMK) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah is responsible for providing IT services to staff and students with the help of state-of-the-art equipment. In fact the university prepared a blueprint for digital inclusion even before the campus development. Being a strategic asset of the University, IT services are efficiently managed as a valuable resource.

Our network provides communication both internally and externally. Main services include telephones, computers, software, Internet, e-mail, printing, scanning, digital imaging, etc.

Facilities available are CD-Rom production, 2D graphics, image manipulation and enhancement, image scanning, animation, digital photography, digital audio/video acquisition and editing.

Academics uses of IT include multimedia applications in lecturing, practical training and research. Most lecturers have been provided with personal computers. Additional computers are obtained through research project grants for the use of the researchers.

Administrative sections of the university are increasingly using computerised systems and software in managing accounts and audits; processing of the salary, disbursement of research grant, preparation of inventory and setting of timetables. Staff handling these functions is given training and orientation by system managers, programmers and other IT specialists.
