The university excellence is not only measured by just preparing conducive environments for teaching and learning, but also through the numbers and quality of the academicians’ publications.
The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd. Harun Abdullah said that UMS is always committed in strengthening their knowledge and skills in various fields for them to be more competitive, especially the academicians.
“This includes increasing their skills in writing and publications for them to be able to compete at the global and national level,” he said during the opening ceremony of Bengkel Penulisan dan Penerbitan Buku Karya Suntingan Hasil Penyelidikan (PENYUNTINGAN) 2014 at the Gallery, UMS Chancellery Building.
The Vice-Chancellor’s text was read by Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage (FKSW) Dean, Prof. Dato’ Mohd . Hamdan Adnan.
According to Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd. Harun, the workshop was organized perfectly in time when the university are now in steps to realizing their aspirations and increasing their image.
The four-day workshop, was organized by Ethnography Research and Development Unit (UPEP) and Penerbit UMS collaboration, is fill with a special discourse given by Institute of Malaysian and International Studies Principal Fellow, Emeritus Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Rahman Embong, knowledge presentation and also editing and publication of research output practise. -MA(JA)-
