About Faculty of Tropical Forest

Research, teaching, international interaction

Forestry is a sector that is a pillar of the state and national economy, conservation and tourism. Currently, Malaysia has more than 18 million hectares of forests and needs ongoing management expertise to support the sustainability of this sector. Several global issues such as climate change have made Malaysia one of the world's most recognized countries in its commitment to manage tropical forests with an area of more than 50% of its total land cover.

Best Learning Environment

The Faculty of Tropical Forestry was established to support the government's aspiration of supplying competent graduates and producing trained human resources with required professionalism in the development of the country's forestry sector and internationally recognized. Provide strong and professional knowledge in the field of forestry with emphasis on sustainable forest management, biological conservation, management of nature and parks recreation, technology, and timber industry, as well as forest plantations and agroforestry.
