Excellence in interdisciplinary knowledge generation within the Humanities and Social Sciences to strengthen intellectual and soft skills, thereby developing proffesional human capital capable of competing on the global stage.
History Of Creation
The first school established was the School of Social Sciences in 1995. Throughout its initial establishment, the School of Social Sciences offered six study programmes, namely Communication, Industrial Relations, International Relations, Sociology, Geography and History.

The Establishment of University Malaysia Sabah
The history of establishment of University Malaysia Sabah began on 31 January 1994, when the YAB Perdana Menteri, Dato' Seri Mahathir bin Mohamad, expressed his intention to establish a university in Sabah.

Sekolah Sains Sosial (SSS)
The Kolej Komuniti Yayasan Sabah building was the first building for Sekolah Sains Sosial, which began admitting students in 1995.

The introduction of the Industry Relations and Communication Programme.

Fakulti Kemanusiaan, Seni Dan Warisan (FKSW)

- The renaming of the school to the faculty took place, and the change officially came into effect on 1 June 2014.
- Sekolah Sains Sosial merged with Sekolah Pengajian Seni and became known as the Faculty of Humanities, Art and Heritage
