Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Accounting (Honours), UMS, is recognised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) as one of the local accounting degrees in Part 1 of the Accountants Act 1967. It is also accredited by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), The Malaysia Institute of Certified of Public Accountant (MICPA), and part of the Chartered Institute of Management's (CIMA) exemption database. The program aims to nurture universally responsible accountants with international standards, qualifications, and global skills in fulfilling the needs of the profession, nation, and global market.

Diploma/Equivalent

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

SPM

Possess the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) with a minimum of:

Grade C in Malay Language / Malay Language (July Paper)
Grade E in History for examinations from 2013 onwards

STPM

Pass the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) examination with a minimum of:

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00
Grade C in General Studies
Two (2) Grade Cs in any other subjects not included above

MUET

Obtain a minimum of Band 1.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations commencing from Session 1 of 2021, with a validity period of five (5) years from the date of issuance of the test results.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Obtain a minimum of Grade B in one (1) subject at STPM level, as follows:
- Geography
Obtain a minimum of Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for results obtained from Session 1 of 2021, with a validity period of five (5) years from the date of issuance of the test results.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

DIPLOMA – PUBLIC UNIVERSITY / POLYTECHNIC / COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Possess a Diploma qualification from a Public Institution of Higher Learning (IPTA), Public Skills Training Institution (ILKA), Private Institution of Higher Learning (IPTS), or any other qualification recognised as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the University Senate.

(Programme-specific requirements are subject to the type of programme offered by the Public University.)

MUET

SPM

Possess the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) with a minimum of:

Grade C in Malay Language / Malay Language (July Paper)
Grade E in History for examinations from 2013 onwards

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possess a relevant Diploma from an educational institution recognised by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
Obtain a minimum of Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations commencing from Session 1 of 2021, with a validity period of five (5) years from the date of issuance of the test results.
