THURSDAY, 30 APRIL – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Student Representatives Council (MPP) recently organised a programme called ‘Leader to Lead’ at Taun Gusi Secondary School (SMK).
MPP President, Alfarid Abraham said, the three-day programme received encouraging response from the students of SMK Inanam, SMK Narinang, SMK Arshad and SMK Taun Gusi.
This programme becomes a platform for UMS MPP as a body or association focusing on leadership to apply the leadership value to all participants of the programme,” he told media when met after the programme.
He said that each activity was designed not only to test the participants’ minds but foster the spirit of cooperation as a group.
“It is consistent with the objectives of the programme, to produce a student leader who has the physical and mental endurance to face any challenge that comes, thus able to lead an efficient and professional organisation,” explained Alfarid.
Themed ‘Lead for the Next Generation’, the programme held for the first time was officiated by the Head of Academic Sector of the Sabah Education Department, Datuk Dr. Mohd Kassim Hj Mohd Ibrahim who is also a member of UMS Board of Directors. – SS (fl)
