Residential College E Open Day

openday 2sWEDNESDAY, 29 APRIL – Open Day @ E organised by the Student Welfare Community Committee Exco (JAKMAS) Residential College E Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) was abuzz with various activities organised throughout the programme yesterday.

It included a street soccer, cake decorating contest and best booth contest by clubs of Residential College E, besides blood donation activity in collaboration with Likas Hospital for Women and Children.

The official closing ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Affairs and Alumni UMS, Assoc. Professor Dr. Ismail Ali at Anjung Siswa, Student Affairs Department Building UMS.

In his speech, he praised College E’s management in organising programmes aimed at establishing unity and build students' critical thinking and creativity.

“This effort is in line with the 10 shifts outlined in the Malaysian Education Development Plan (Higher Education) that touched on the aspect of Holistic, Entrepreneurial and Balanced Graduates through the university’s curriculum,” he said.

He added that in addition to helping to resolve problems encountered at the residential college, JAKMAS also played an important role in conducting this programme.

The Open Day @ E was an initiative in introducing student’s activities and achievements attained by Residential College E, in addition to being a platform in fostering ties among students. - (fl)
