FKSW Organises Seminar for Its Postgraduate Students

ProfNajib 1 final 3FRIDAY, 29 MAY – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) through the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage (FKSW) recently organised a seminar on ‘Performing Tradition for Contemporary Context’ aimed at their postgraduate students.

The seminar was presented by Professor Datuk Dr. Mohd. Najib Ahmad Dawa, the former Director-General of the National Art Gallery who once held the top post for Aswara in 2010 and Chief Executive Officer of Ikip College Pahang in 2011.

“Traditional society imitate nature due to their intimateness and their dependency on nature. Therefore, they transform not only nature but also its character,” he said, during his presentation.

The seminar was attended by more than 100 postgraduate students, including interested individuals.

Also present was the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni, FKSW, Associate Professor Dr. Haji Baharudin Haji Mohd Arus. – FL
