HEP UMS Holds ‘Intercollege UMS’

WEDNESDAY, 25 MAY – The Cultural and Arts Division, Department of Student Affairs (HEP) has successfully held the Intercollege Competition at Kota Kinabalu main campus, Labuan International Campus and Sandakan Campus.

According to the Chairman of Culture and Arts Division HEP, Alan James, the programme aimed to identify talented students who would represent the university at a higher level.

“The competition was conducted in four categories; 1Malaysia Dance, Theatre, Nasyid and Lagu Asli, and the programme is expected to become an annual event of the university,” he said.

At the end of the Intercollege Competition held at the Faculty of Agriculture (FPL), Sandakan Campus recently saw 10 participants from each residential colleges competed in the Lagu Asli category.

The competition was won by a participant from Tun Fuad Residential College, Afiq Fauzi, bringing home cash prize, trophy and certificate.

Participants from Tun Fuad Residential College, Nur Farah Ain Donian and Tun Mustapha Residential College, Nor Amanina Karman won the second and third placing, respectively.

The prizes were presented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Associate Professor Dr. Ismail Ali.

Also present were the Dean of FPL, Professor Dr Wan Mohamad Bin Wan Othman, Head of Student Affairs Department, Azmi Jumat and Senior Assistant Registrar of FPL, Roslan Gimba. – (fl)
