SENSOR - A Longitudinal Cohort Study of Infection and Exposure to Zoonotic and Vector-Borne Diseases Across a Land Use Gradient

 

 

Project Coordinator

:

a) Draft fieldwork plans and schedules for community surveys

b) Apply for permission and coordinate community outreach activities

c) Lead, monitor, and supervise staff

d) Ensure fieldwork equipment is maintained in optimal condition

e) Manage and update research data obtained periodically

f) Identify and discuss problems or any issues that arise during fieldwork activities with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigators (Co-I)

 

 

Data Manager

:

a) Maintain SENSOR data repository and regularly update data for SENSOR project

b) Reports the current status of research data

c) Design and monitor data entry tools and logbooks

d) Assists in preparations before and after fieldwork

e) Attends research meetings for SENSOR project

f) As a backup driver

g) Carry out other tasks as required by SENSOR researcher

Criteria

:

- Strong interpersonal and communication

- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours

- Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team

- Capable of carrying equipment and traveling to remote locations

- Strong organizational skills

- Experience in public health or ecological research

- Experience in community-based projects

- Hands-on experience with field data collection or insect surveys.

- Must have valid driving license (D) and willing to travel for project activities

MEXT Scholarship (PhD) Opportunity through SATREPS at Nagasaki University
 
Criteria :
a) Born on or after 2 April 1990.
b) Academic record of 2.30 or above in last academic year or current course of study.
c) Meet one of the language requirements in the application guidelines: Japanese (1) or (2), English (1) or (2).
d) Able to travel to Japan on the date designated by the host university within a period of two weeks counting from the date of arrival (October 2025).
 
 
Language Requirement:
The applicant must meet one of the following conditions as a person who has the ability in either Japanese or English.
 
1) Japanese
(1) Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at level N2 or above at the time of enrolment in a regular course.
(2) Those who have completed an educational course that meets the qualifications for admission to a master's or doctoral course (first semester) or doctoral course (second semester) at a Japanese graduate school, using Japanese as the main language.
 
2)English
1) Applicants must have a qualification/examination score equivalent to B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or higher in English at the time of enrolment in a regular course.
(2) Applicants must have completed an educational course that meets the qualifications for admission to a master's, master's (first semester) or doctoral (second semester) course at a graduate school in Japan, using English as the main language.

Nagasaki University will start SATREPS program of zoonotic malaria
