FRIDAY, 13 JUNE – University of Portland, Oregon plan to have collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).Cultural Affairs Officers, United States Embassy, Arend Zwartjes said during his courtesy call visit to the Mayor of Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK), Datuk Abidin Madingkir.
According to Arend said, University of Portland is planning to set up a medical school and planning to have a twinning programme with UMS.
A discussion regarding establishing ‘Portland and Kota Kinabalu Sister City’ was also mention during the visit.
A local newspaper reported today, DBKK is trying to get an approval for the proposal. –SS
