PERSADA UMS Conduct Community Service at Felda Sampadi Sarawak

THURSDAY, 12 JUNE - Students from 'Permuafakatan Siswa Siswi Felda' (PERSADA) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Trolak Perak conduct 'Program Integrasi Awan Biru' recently.

87 students from the three institutions conduct community service by having a 'Khalifah' workshop; teaching youth and children religious obligations in Islam. The event was hold at Felda Sampadi Sarawak.

According to the programme director, Mohd Aidy Seran, the activity is the idea from UMS Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Affairs and Alumni who wants UMS PERSADA to become the medium to bring forward the national education agenda to the society.

Mohd Aidy, final year students Faculty of Psychology and Education said the programme was also filled with motivational talk, as the university efforts servicing the community especially the Felda generations.

The opening ceremony was formalized by Felda Community Development Deputy Director, Abdul Ghani Mohd. Ali.

In his speech, he urges the children of Felda to be thankfull to the government who are focused in developing and pushing forward their community in education.

The programme is, jointly organized by Felda, Seranta Sabah and Sarawak, was also attended by UNIMAS Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Affairs and Alumni, Prog. Mohd Fadzil Abd Rahman. Asmarah Rikun, Head of Sabah Seranta, and Awang Sapri Awang Ahmad, Head of Sarawak Seranta was also present during the programme. -SS
