FRIDAY, 15 MAY – The Daun Kelor group emerged champion at the Faculty of Sustainable Agriculture (FPL) Dean’s Cup Debate Competition held at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Sandakan Campus, recently.
They beat team Bunga-bunga Cinta at the finals taking home cash prize worth RM250.00, a challenge trophy and certificate of participation.
Settling at second place was team Bunga-bunga Cinta who brought home cash prize of RM200.00, trophy and certificate of participation.
Third place was shared between team Mahogany and Farmville who each received cash prize of RM100.00, trophy and certificate of participation.
Themed ‘Young Generation, Catalyst to Nation’s Sustainable Agriculture’, the two-day competition was participated by 24 teams from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Bintulu Campus, UMS Sandakan Campus, UMS Main Campus, UMS Labuan and Science Secondary School Kota Kinabalu.
The closing and prize-giving ceremony was officiated by the Dean of the Faculty of Sustainable Agriculture, Professor Dr. Wan Mohamad Wan Othman.
Also present was the competition coordinator who is also the Coordinator at the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language UMS Sandakan Campus, Dr. Bonaventure Boniface. – SS (fl)
