ii.            ASEAN-INDIA RESEARCH TRAINING FELLOWSHIP (AIRTF) UNDER ASEAN-INDIA S&T DEVELOPMENT FUND (AISTDF) 2018

 

Greetings from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia (MOSTI)

 

2.       For your information, MOSTI is the focal point of Malaysia for the ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (ASEAN COST) which was established in 1978 to strengthen and enhance the capability of ASEAN in science, technology and innovation (STI) cooperation. India as the dialogue partner for ASEAN has been actively collaborating with ASEAN COST via the ASEAN India S&T Working Group (AIWGST) platform since 1996.

 

3.         The International Division of MOSTI as the National COST Secretariat wishes to share the Announcement for Call for Proposals for (i) ASEAN-India Collaborative R&D (AIRND) and(ii)  ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AIRTF) under the ASEAN-India S&T Development Fund (AISTDF).

 

4.         The brief information and all the details are provided below:

 

ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AIRTF)

 

       I.            The AIRTF will be awarded to young scientists and researchers from ASEAN Member States for an attachment with affiliated academic and R&D institutions. The aims of the AIRTF are (i) to promote mobility of scientists and researchers from the ASEAN Member States to India and provide them opportunity to work at Indian R&D/ academic institutions to upgrade their research skills and expertise and (ii) to facilitate exchange of information and contacts between the scientists and researchers of India and ASEAN Countries and create a network for building research collaborations.

     II.            Duration of program: up to six (6) months

   III.            Eligibility: Applicant must be holding nationality of any of the ASEAN Member State and holding Master’s Degree in any Natural Sciences or an equivalent degree in Technology / Engineering / Medicine / allied disciplines

   IV.            Application deadline: no specific deadline for submitting the project proposals and therefore The complete applications / proposals can be submitted to DST and ASEAN Secretariat during any time of the year

ASEAN-India Collaborative R&D Program (AIRND)

 

       I.            AIRND will promote collaborative research projects among researchers of India and ASEAN countries in all disciplines of natural sciences, medicine, health, Mathematics, electronics & IT, science & technology (social sciences & humanities are not covered). The research areas should be ASEAN centric and be aligned with the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology and Innovation (APASTI) 2016-2025. Under this scheme, the fund will be supplied to the selected recipients to support mobility of researchers from India to partnering ASEAN Member States and vice versa. The project would necessarily have to be developed jointly by the scientists/ researchers in India and at least 2 ASEAN Member States

     II.            Eligible institutions in ASEAN MS: All Academic/ Research Institutions, Universities and other Research and Academic Institutions which are eligible to receive funding from ASEAN

   III.            Duration of program: 24-36 months

   IV.            Application deadline: no specific deadline for submitting the project proposals and therefore The complete applications / proposals can be submitted to DST and ASEAN Secretariat during any time of the year
