UMS Opens Satellite Office in China

WEDNESDAY, 30 SEPTEMBER – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) took another step forward in expanding its international network by opening its first satellite office in Harbin, China yesterday.

Vice-Chancellor of UMS, Professor Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah said, it had been his desire to spread UMS brand to China in an effort by the university to internationalise itself.

Alhamdulillah, today marks a special day in the history of UMS where we now have a Satellite Office in Harbin, China.

“Our sincere thanks to the Deputy Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching and the Chairman of the Board of Directors UMS, Tun Zaki Tun Azmi for the support given towards the establishment of this satellite office,” he added.

The opening of  a satellite office was officially opened by Datuk Mary Yap who was also part of UMS delegation to China.

According to Datuk Harun, the working visit to China also saw UMS signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with universities in Harbin, China in academic research collaboration and student mobility.

Also in UMS delegation was its Chairman, Tun Zaki Tun Azmi; Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International, Professor Dr. D Kamarudin D Mudin and Acting Director of the Centre for International Affairs UMS, Molly Donna Awang Sham. – (fl)
