Workshop on the Coordination of Postgraduate Generic Degree Programme

MONDAY, 7 DECEMBER – The Centre for Postgraduate Studies (PPPS) recently held a workshop on Coordination of Postgraduate Generic Degree Programmes, at the Klagan Regency, 1Borneo.

According to a statement issued by the centre, the workshop involved all faculties, centres and institutesthat are involved in the university’s postgraduate programmes.

The objective is to coordinate the names of all existing postgraduate programmes giving specialisation in their generic name, either recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) or those that were offered but not recognised.

The statement added that this coordination of degree names by generic would make it easier for the university to offer postgraduate programmes without having to make a new application each time new areas of specialisation are offered.

At the workshop, all faculties, centres and institutes agreed on the implementation of the rebranding of the postgraduate degree programmes by generic.

The event was officiated by the Director of the  Centre for Strategic and Academic Management (PPSA), Professor Dr. Marcus Jopony representing the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International). – SS (fl)
