About

The agriculture sector is an important sector for the nation in terms of ensuring food security as well as economic development. These are highlighted in the National Agro Food Policy (2011-2020). Sustainable agriculture practices will play a crucial role in dealing with the many problems currently faced globally such as food security (quality and quantity), environmental problems, climate change, ecosystem impacts and resource degradation, supply chain management and other related areas. Realizing that the importance of sustainable agriculture lies in dynamics of research, this symposium provides a platform for postgraduate students, who constitute the human capital of the future, to share their research activities, discuss and exchange ideas on current issues related to the sector and to form linkages which focus on the various clusters in the agriculture sector. This symposium is the first of its kind bringing together postgraduate students across the nation focusing on sustainable agriculture.

Objectives

  • To expose current research in sustainable agriculture undertaken by postgraduate students in Malaysia.
  • To discuss current research and innovations related to the sustainable agriculture.
  • To provide a platform for discussions, exchange of ideas and networking.
