Institut Marin Borneo (IMB) welcomes students from universities and other educational institutions who wish to gain academic, research and practical experience through short-term mobility, internship, industrial training and practicum placements.

Participants have the opportunity to engage with IMB's research environment and gain exposure to activities in aquaculture and marine science, working alongside researchers and technical staff where appropriate. Depending on the nature of the placement, activities may involve laboratory work, aquaculture facilities, field-based research, data collection and analysis, or other research and training activities.

Opportunities

Mobility and training opportunities may include:

• Student Mobility – short-term academic or research placements;

• Industrial Training/Internship – practical training undertaken as part of an academic programme; and

The scope and duration of each placement are determined according to the student's academic requirements, proposed activities, available supervision and IMB's capacity to host the placement.

Applications are considered based on the proposed programme of work, academic background, availability of suitable supervision and facilities, and the relevance of the proposed placement to IMB's areas of expertise.

• institution and programme of study;

• proposed type and duration of placement;

• area of interest;

• proposed activities or training requirements; and

• any requirements specified by their home institution.
