This course aims to teach students the basics knowledge and theories of commercial crops planting from the beginning process up to marketing the product. Students will learn proper managerial method for high and low land planting techniques. Upon completing the course, students will conduct a collaborated project with local farmer throughout Sabah where they will be tested on farm managerial skills in planting skills, harvesting skill and marketing skills. This course also incorporates on soft-skills enhancement in which student must actively participate in related social and community activities and programs.

The course focuses on skills required for knowledge acquisition on Student in Free Enterprise (SIFE) which is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. Participating students form teams on their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. In addition to the community aspect of the program, SIFE’s leadership and career initiatives create meaningful opportunities for learning and exchange among the students as well as the placement of students and alumni with companies in search of emerging talent.
