A. General Questions
1. Why do students need to take courses at Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning (PPIB)?
PPIB offers various courses from different fields to support other faculties in producing graduates who are not only knowledgeable and skillful in their selected disciplines, but also possess humanistic values, balanced and holistic merits in line with the Malaysian Education Philosophy.

B. Questions About Credit Hours
1. Are students allowed to transfer credit if they've taken the same course at another university?
Yes, provided that the transfer of credits is horizontal and students are still active in their studies. The credit is calculated in the students’ graduating credits and the course grade is taken into account in the calculation of the Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

C. Questions About University Compulsory Cluster
1. The TITAS course has been changed to Philosophy and Contemporary Issues (FIS). For students from the earlier intakes (i.e. before the 2020/2021 session) who are supposed to take TITAS, are they required to take Philosophy and Contemporary Issues (FIS) as a replacement for TITAS?
Starting from the 2020/2021 session, the TITAS course is replaced with Philosophy and Contemporary Issues (FIS). Students from the earlier intakes (i.e. before the 2020/2021 session) are allowed to take FIS course in order to complete their credit hours for TITAS course and it will be aligned.
2. The HE course has been changed to Appreciation of Ethics and Civilisations (PEDP). For students from the earlier intakes (i.e. before the 2020/2021 session) who are supposed to take TITAS, are they required to take Appreciation of Ethics and Civilisations (PEDP) as a replacement for HE?
3. Do international students need to take the Appreciation of Ethics and Civilisations (PEDP) course?
D. Questions About English Language Cluster
1. What is the graduation requirement for students who are taking English language courses at PPIB?
Students must obtain an average of grade C (2.00) for the four English language courses.
E. Questions About Foreign and Local Language Cluster
1. What is the language test requirement to enrol in Foreign and Local Language courses?
Local students must obtain a minimum of Band 4 in MUET and a minimum level in international English tests, such as TOFEL and IELTS as as stated in our website for international students.
2. Can students who obtained MUET Band 3 register for Foreign & Local Language courses?
3. Can Chinese / Kadazandusun students take Mandarin or Kadazandusun course even though they cannot speak the language?
4. Can students register for foreign language level 2 or 3, without passing level 1?
