THURSDAY, 27 FEBRUARY – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Bursar, Hj. Rizal Othman chaired the Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA) Treasurers Meeting Bil. 1/2014 held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor recently.

At the meeting, he raised some issues of financial management and income generation.

He also led the group on a working visit to the National Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

The visit was aimed at obtaining information on income-generating activities and financial sustainability of the institution as a reference that can be applied in universities across the country.

In the meantime, UTM Bursar, Sharifah Alwiah Syed Alwi also expressed her appreciation to the secretariat for selecting UTM as the host for the meeting.

The next meeting will be held at University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) in May 2014. – SS (FL)
