Briefing on Application Guidelines on New Programmes Well-Received

Taklimat PPSATUESDAY, 08 JULY – Approximately 50 participants attended a briefing on the application guidelines, programme review and formulation of new programmes that took place yesterday at the Information and Communication Technology Department (JTMK).

The seminar organised by the Centre for Strategic and Academic Management (PPSA) was presented by the Deputy Director of PPSA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jennifer Chan.

At the seminar, Dr. Jennifer revealed to the participants to a variety of academic development procedures such as design and formulation of new programmes, design and development of new courses and curriculum revision changes exceeding 30 percent.

Also explained was the change in the curriculum revision less than 30 percent besides faculty needs that should be taken into account while preparing papers for the Senate Policy and documentation relating to the Senate Meeting after approval at the Academic Development Committee Meeting (JKPA) and others.

Deputy Registrar of PPSA, Hasmi Hashim when contacted said the briefing was overall successful in achieving its objectives to provide an understanding of the processes and procedures of application for new programmes, review of existing programmes and the flow chart of the user quality MS ISO 9001: 2008 manual on the expansion of academic and MQA procedures.

He said that following the encouraging response from participants, PPSA hoped to organise such briefings every year for the smooth delivery of academic development of the university.

The one-day seminar was attended by participants from among the Deputy Deans of Academic, Heads of Programmes and Assistant Registrar (Academic) as well as representatives of each faculty and from the Academic Services Division (BPA) UMS. – SS (fl)
