TUESDAY, 24 JUNE – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) through the Student Affairs and Alumni Department (HEP) presented an insurance cheque amounting to RM15,000 to the family of the late Norashiela Abdullah, a UMS undergrad who was involved in a fatal car accident last February.The cheque presentation was done by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Assoc. Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Md. Mansur at the victim’s family home in Miri Sarawak.
The victim’s father accorded his gratitude and appreciation for the contribution and moral support by UMS in their time of bereavement.
The final year undergrad of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting UMS died along with her coursemate, the late Shazwan Hazlami Sharidzuan when the Perodua Viva Elite car they were travelling in collided with an express bus, which was making a turn at the Tuaran Road by-pass.
The two victims died on the spot due to severe head and bodily injuries. – SS (fl)
