
MONDAY, 17 FEBRUARY – The 14th Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Staff Games which began since 24 January 2014 culminated yesterday at UMS Laman Graduan after 31 events were competed.
The closing ceremony of the games saw 1KAL contingent thumping the other contingents to grab the victor title with a medal tally of 9 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze.
1KAL won gold in kayaking, volleyball, badminton, dart, volleyball (men), table tennis, beach volleyball (men and women) and tug-of-war.
Meanwhile, D’Six contingent took the second spot with a total medal haul of 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.
D’Six collected gold through beach volleyball (Men) event, sepak takraw (Men Veteran), futsal (Senior Men and Women), football 9-aside (Men veteran) and carom.
Twin Towers contingent led by UMS Bursar, Hj. Rizal Othman took the third spot with 4 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze.
Twin Towers contingent collected gold in Run-to-the-Peak, tennis, ten-pin bowling Men’s category and pool.
The closing ceremony of the games was officiated by the Registrar of UMS, Datuk Abdullah Hj. Mohd. Said. Also present were UMS Labuan International Campus Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismail Ali and UMS Sports Centre Director, Mohd. Asyraff Fong Abdullah. – ZMD (FL)

FRIDAY, 14 FEBRUARY – The Academic and Strategic Management Centre (PPSA) recently held a workshop on MS ISO 9001:2008 Technical Committee at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) at the Senate Meeting Room, Chancellery Building UMS.

WEDNESDAY, 12 FEBRUARY – The long-standing relationship between Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and the Department of Minerals and Geoscience Department Malaysia (JMG) was further strengthened through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today.
