Programme Info

The Master of Finance (International Finance) is a research-based programme designed to develop advanced knowledge and research skills in the field of international finance. The programme enables students to conduct independent research on contemporary issues in global financial markets under the supervision of experienced academics.

The programme is offered on both full-time and part-time basis.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • Professionals who critically analyze and offer innovative recommendations to complex international finance issues based on their mastery of the existing theories, concepts, and principles (PLO1, 2, 10).
  • Professionals who employ their practical, digital, and numerical skills to offer feasible recommendations over emerging issues in international finance (PLO 3,6,7).
  • Professionals who lead and work closely with peers through proper information sharing to achieve common goals (PLO4,5,8).
  • Professionals who engage in ongoing professional development activities to promote sound professional ethics in international finance (PLO9, 11).

Career Prospect

A Bachelors’s degree in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from Universiti Malaysia Sabah or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA 2.75, can be accepted subject to internal assessment approved by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.
