Programme Info
The Master of Finance (Islamic Finance) is a research-based programme designed to develop advanced knowledge and research capabilities in the field of Islamic finance. The programme enables students to explore theoretical and practical aspects of Islamic financial systems and conduct independent research under the supervision of experienced academics.
The programme is offered on both full-time and part-time basis.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
- Equip graduates with advanced knowledge and theoretical principles in Islamic Finance to analyse and evaluate complex issues, and to create effective managerial and financial solutions in Islamic finance contexts. (PLO1, PLO2, PLO10)
- Develop graduates with the ability to carry out research under supervision in Islamic finance, employing appropriate practical, digital, and numerical skills to address emerging issues in the field. (PLO3, PLO6, PLO7)
- Equip graduates with the ability to demonstrate effective organisational communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, through appropriate information sharing to achieve common goals in Islamic finance related environments. (PLO4, PLO5, PLO8)
Encourage graduates to uphold ethical responsibilities, appropriate conduct, and engage in lifelong learning, innovation, and continuous self-development in their career development within the field of Islamic finance. (PLO9, PLO11)
Career Prospect
A Bachelors’s degree in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from Universiti Malaysia Sabah or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA 2.75, can be accepted subject to internal assessment approved by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.
