Electronic Engineering (Computer)
A Brief Programme Information
Electronic Engineering (Computer) is a specialized branch of electronic engineering that combines principles of electrical and electronics engineering and computer science. The program curriculum is designed to follow the requirements of the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) and it offers students the opportunity to work on a range of areas related to computer hardware, including Analogue Electronics, Logic Design, Software Engineering, Microprocessors, Database Systems, Embedded Systems, Computer Architecture, Machine Learning, Computer Security, Computer Networks, and Smart Technology.
This field encompasses both electronics at the chip level and systems level, allowing students to gain a comprehensive understanding of electronic components and their integration into larger systems. It is an exciting field that offers opportunities to shape the future of technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). Pursuing this degree can provide you with excellent job prospects and career opportunities due to the increasing reliance on technology in various industries, from consumer electronics to telecommunications, automotive systems, healthcare devices, and more.
By specializing in Electronic Engineering (Computer), you can open up a wide range of career possibilities and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of technology in both soft computing and hard computing domains. Soft computing techniques, such as machine learning, allow for the handling of complex and uncertain data, while hard computing methods provide precise calculations and deterministic algorithms for tasks that require exact solutions. Having knowledge and skills in both soft computing and hard computing will enable you to address a diverse set of challenges and make significant contributions in the field of electronic engineering.
