The association known as Persatuan Fikrah Ummah Medika Sabah (PERFUMS) - PPM 007-12-19122018 established in 2018. The aims of the association is:
- To make universal Islamic practice and appreciation as the basis of excellence in working life and learning
- To empower members of the Association through the involvement of all levels of Muslim healthcare community through the contribution of expertise, ideas, time, energy, wealth and so on.
- To ensure the Association act as a medium that will strengthen the relationship and the unity of Muslim healthcare community.
- To initiates and facilitate religious activities and spirituality among members and community.
- To become a parallel platform and the collaboration Muslim healthcare community with the state and other Islamic association

Membership of the Association is divided into five categories:
- Professional membership –Open to Muslim healthcare professionals staff include medical officer, academics, scientists and others who are Malaysian citizens working in Sabah.
- Associate membership- Open to non-Malaysian citizens Muslim healthcare professionals staff include medical officer, academics, scientists and others who working in Sabah
- Supportive membership- Open to Muslim healthcare non-professionals staff include administration staff, driver, cleaner and other who working in Sabah
- Lifetime membership- Open to Professional, Associate and Supportive members on payment of a specific fee.
- Student membership- Open to medical and health sciences Muslim students who are studying in Sabah
