International Exchange Program UMS–UoK 2026 in collaboration with the University of Kochi, Japan.

The Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition (FSMP), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) continues to move forward as an internationally recognized hub in nutrition through the organization of the International Exchange Program UMS–UoK 2026 in collaboration with the University of Kochi, Japan.

This five-day program marks the beginning of a stronger bilateral academic collaboration, including plans for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of nutrition.

Throughout the program, the delegation from Japan was exposed to:

  • Experiential-based learning
  • Visits to health and nutrition facilities
  • Local culinary demonstrations from a food anthropology perspective
  • Research sharing sessions with UMS academic staff

This initiative reflects FSMP’s ongoing commitment to expanding global networks while opening more opportunities for students and researchers at the international level.

This collaboration not only strengthens Malaysia–Japan relations but also serves as a bridge of knowledge in advancing the field of nutrition comprehensively.
